Tuesday August 21: Discussion of philosophy of science, especially Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn. There are some notes and terminology on this web page.
 
Thursday August 23: Please read and be prepared to discuss "The Double Helix", by James Watson.

Tuesday August 28: Please read the web pages "Background on Immunology (in one easy lesson)" and "Autoimmune Diseases" (both on this web site; there is some overlap between them).
 
Thursday August 30: Web page: Alternative "Scientific Methods"
Students will sign up in groups of three, and each such 3-member group will begin searching for their choice of recent research papers on any topic closely related to immunity, allergy, asthma, or autoimmune diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus or Childhood Diabetes.
