Evolutionary Genetics and Genomics
Willett Lab in the Biology Department at UNC
In the Willett lab we study the genetic basis of evolutionary processes, specifically, the genetics of adaptation and speciation.
We have worked extensively on an intertidal copepod species, Tigriopus californicus, as a model for the study of the early stages of speciation and local adaptation to environmental stresses. Additional work has centered on thermal biology and pheromone communication in moths.
