The UNC Sometimes Annual Phytogeographical Excursions
Ecology is a discipline that cannot be truly understood without a deep appreciation for the field context within which ecological phenomena occur. To mutually develop and improve such background, our research group participates in regular field excursions. Sometimes these are held as part of our seminar series (Biology 255) and sometimes, for longer trips, they become the focus of a special semester-long seminar (Biology 247). To encourage careful observation and participation, we jointly compile a record (or Proceedings) for most of the excursions.
