Cell Biology of
Morphogenesis: Reshaping cells in
vivo
a special-interest subgroup meeting at the
ASCB conference
Saturday Dec 6, 2014, 1pm-5pm
Introduction
to Cell Biology of Morphogenesis:
Multicellular organisms take on complex
three-dimensional structures largely based
on the reshaping of individual cells. How
do cells change shape? How are
cellular-scale components, like the
actomyosin cell cortex and intercellular
junctions, structured and then
restructured to influence cell shapes? How
are forces generated and integrated in
multicellular contexts to shape tissues
and organs? This session will explore
recent advances in addressing fundamental
questions of tissue morphogenesis using
multidisciplinary approaches from cell
biology, quantitative imaging, and
biophysics to probe complex in vivo
systems.

Hill
